Well, maybe it’s a bit sanctimonious of me to say, but I don’t make fun of people for voting for Trump or Brexit. You do make a good point that those demographics are mirrors of one another, but I don’t agree in what they have in common. I believe they both are desperate demographics full of people who were left behind as their respective countries moved beyond industrialisation. And that they were both conned by those they voted for. Both have some xenophobes, racists, and fascists sprinkled in for flavour, but by and large they don’t represent the majority of that voting bloc in either instance.
